ISLAMABAD: Islamabad Capital Territory (ICT) administration announced a local holiday today (Saturday) in view of peace talks between Iran and the United States.
According to a notification issued here on Friday, 11th April (Saturday) has been declared a local holiday within the revenue limits of ICT except the offices of essential services in Islamabad including MCI, CDA, ICT Administration, ICT Police, IESCO, SNGPL and Hospitals.
Similarly, Islamabad Traffic Police (ITP) traffic plan for April 11 and April 12 under which several key roads will remain closed, including routes from Kashmir Chowk (via Club Road) to Zero Point on Srinagar Highway, Srinagar Highway from Zero Point to Serena Chowk, Shakarparian Road from Chand Tara Chowk to 7th Avenue, Jinnah Avenue from Khayaban Chowk to Blue Area, and Margalla Road from Faisal Chowk to Trail 3.
The authorities also announced that all government and private offices, as well as markets located within the extended Red Zone, will remain closed during the period.
For commuters travelling between Bhara Kahu and Islamabad or Rawalpindi, alternative routes have been suggested, including using Club Road via Kashmir Chowk and proceeding towards Faizabad and 9th Avenue.
The police have urged citizens to avoid unnecessary travel except in case of emergencies and to cooperate with law enforcement agencies.
