LAHORE: In significant step toward strengthening Pakistan China friendship and enhancing welfare for the Chinese community in Lahore, the Pakistan China Joint Chamber of Commerce and Industry (PCJCCI), the Consulate General of the People’s Republic of China in Lahore, and Hameed Latif Hospital have initiated a collaborative healthcare partnership to provide dedicated medical services for Chinese personnel and their families.

The initiative follows an official Expression of Interest issued by Hameed Latif Hospital proposing comprehensive healthcare facilities, including complimentary on-site OPD sessions, priority consultations, diagnostic services, and preferential hospital care for Chinese Consulate staff and Chinese nationals working in Lahore.

With the growing presence of Chinese professionals, engineers, investors, and business representatives in Pakistan under various economic initiatives, ensuring their health and well-being has become increasingly important. This partnership aims to provide a reliable healthcare support system and a sense of comfort and security for Chinese friends living and working in Lahore.

Sun Yan, Consul General of China in Lahore appreciated the initiative and emphasized the importance of supportive facilities for Chinese nationals. He remarked that “we appreciate the efforts of PCJCCI and Hameed Latif Hospital for this thoughtful initiative. Providing healthcare support to Chinese nationals strengthens confidence and enhances cooperation. Such initiatives further deepen people-to-people friendship and promote a conducive environment for bilateral collaboration.”

Nazir Hussain President PCJCCI welcomed the initiative and highlighted the importance of people-to-people connectivity. He stated that the Pakistan and China share a historic and time-tested friendship. “Our Chinese friends working in Pakistan are contributing significantly to economic development and bilateral cooperation. Ensuring their well-being is our collective responsibility. This healthcare collaboration reflects our commitment to strengthening mutual trust and long-term partnership between our two brotherly nations.”

Dr Haroon Latif Khan, Executive Director of Hameed Latif Hospital expressed that Hameed Latif Hospital is honoured to extend its healthcare expertise to the Chinese community. “We aim to provide compassionate, timely, and high-quality medical care. This initiative is not just a healthcare partnership but a symbol of friendship and cooperation between Pakistan and China.”
