LAHORE: The provincial ministers on Monday urged the nation to stand united to overcome the threats posed by Pakistan’s enemies.

In his message on the occasion of Pakistan Day, Punjab Local Government Minister Zeeshan Rafique has said that on this day, the nation stands at a critical crossroads, and the challenges posed by Pakistan’s enemies can only be countered through unity. He further expressed that the pursuit of progress and prosperity is impossible without national unity.

He also said that March 23 is a significant day in the nation’s history, marking the passage of the Lahore Resolution. He noted that the meeting of the Muslim League in Lahore on this date was the beginning of a vigorous struggle for independence. He emphasised that the establishment of Pakistan was achieved through the sacrifices of millions.

The minister called on everyone to renew their commitment to embody the spirit of the Pakistan Movement on this important day.

Meanwhile, Punjab Housing Minister Bilal Yasin remarked that the foundation of Pakistan was laid on March 23, 1940, and the groundwork for an invincible Pakistan was established on May 28, 1998.

In the current context, he highlighted that Operation Banyan Al-Marsoos serves as a prime example of Pakistan’s future in defence. “With the wise decisions made by both political and military leadership, Pakistan’s significance in the region has strengthened,” he said, adding that the entire nation honours the sacrifices made by the Pakistani armed forces.

He also mentioned that Operation Zarb-ul-Haq is aimed at addressing the khawarij and the forces that seek to destabilise Pakistan. Yasin strongly condemned the Israeli aggression against Iran, asserting that Pakistan does not support any form of aggressive action in the region.

“Pakistan is fully capable of responding effectively to any aggression directed against it,” he added.
