LAHORE: Punjab Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz Sharif on Sunday urged the nation to renew its commitment to the ideology of Pakistan and work collectively for the country’s progress and stronger global standing.

In her message on Pakistan Day, she said 23 March marked a historic turning point when Muslims of the subcontinent set the direction for a separate homeland.

She termed the Lahore Resolution a milestone in the freedom movement and described the day as the starting point of the Pakistan Movement.

CM stressed that unity, organisation, hard work and integrity were vital for national development, adding that the sacrifices of the forefathers required continued efforts to achieve the true objectives of independence.

She said adherence to the vision of Muhammad Ali Jinnah was essential to secure a dignified place for Pakistan in the international community.

Maryam Nawaz reaffirmed her resolve to make all-out efforts to elevate the country’s status among nations and underscored the need to transform Pakistan in line with the vision of its founding fathers to ensure a prosperous future for coming generations.
