ISLAMABAD: Pakistan has extended the restriction on its airspace for Indian aircraft, with the ban now remaining in effect until April 24, 2026, according to a fresh Notice to Airmen (NOTAM) issued by the Pakistan Airports Authority (PAA).
The NOTAM states that Pakistan’s airspace will remain unavailable for all aircraft registered in India, as well as those operated, owned, or leased by Indian airlines and operators.
The restriction applies broadly and also includes Indian military flights, reinforcing the continuation of existing aviation limitations between the two countries.
The airspace closure is effective from March 18, 2026, and will remain enforced until 23:59 EST on April 23, 2026. The extension of the ban is expected to continue impacting Indian carriers, particularly on long-haul routes, as they are required to take longer alternative paths, leading to increased operational costs and travel times.
