- The high-level gathering aims to address rapidly evolving regional developments
Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Ishaq Dar has arrived in Riyadh to participate in an emergency meeting of Arab and Islamic foreign ministers, the Foreign Office (FO) announced on Wednesday.
The high-level gathering, convened by Saudi Arabia, aims to address rapidly evolving regional developments and explore ways to strengthen security and stability amid rising tensions across the Middle East.
According to the FO, Dar will reiterate Pakistan’s call for an immediate cessation of hostilities and emphasize the importance of dialogue and diplomacy in resolving ongoing conflicts.
During the meeting, the foreign minister is expected to express Pakistan’s firm support for the territorial integrity, sovereignty, and political independence of countries in the region, while urging an end to attacks on their territories.

He will also highlight Pakistan’s ongoing diplomatic outreach and its willingness to play a constructive role in addressing the worsening security situation.
The emergency session comes against the backdrop of intensifying conflict in the Middle East, following strikes by the United States and Israel on Iranian targets. The attacks triggered retaliatory missile and drone strikes, raising fears of a broader regional war that could disrupt key global energy routes.
Tensions escalated further after Iran confirmed the deaths of senior figures, including security chief Ali Larijani and Basij commander Gholamreza Soleimani, vowing a strong response.
With multiple countries on edge, the Riyadh meeting is being seen as a critical diplomatic effort to prevent further escalation and restore regional stability.
