KARACHI: Pakistan Freelancers Association (PAFLA) and SI Global Solutions have signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) to foster collaboration aimed at strengthening Pakistan’s rapidly growing freelancing ecosystem.

Chairman PAFLA Ibrahim Amin and CEO SI Global Solutions Dr Noman A Said signed the MoU recently in Karachi.

The agreement outlines a framework for joint initiatives, including training workshops, mentorship programs, industry linkages, and awareness campaigns to promote freelancing as a viable and sustainable career path.

Speaking on the occasion, Chairman PAFLA Ibrahim Amin said that Pakistan has immense talent, particularly among its youth. However, structured support and capacity-building initiatives are essential to harness this potential. He added that the contribution of IT companies can play a vital role in bridging skill gaps and providing freelancers with the resources they need to thrive internationally.

He mentioned that Pakistan’s freelancers’ contribution is growing to the economy, as they earned over USD 500 million foreign exchange in the first half of the current financial year, which is expected to cross a mark of USD 1 billion by end of the current financial year.

CEO SI Global Solutions, Dr Noman A Said, said that skill development and capacity building of human resources are the need of the hour to empower Pakistan’s youth and guide them in the right direction. He emphasized that the role of the private sector is equally important in contributing to the country’s progress and development.

“At SI Global Solutions, we have a training unit for freelancers and students, and practical experience to provide coaching to budding freelancers on business development strategies. By joining hands with PAFLA, we aim to create opportunities that enable Pakistani youth to develop competitive skills and access global digital markets,” he added.

Through this collaboration, both organizations will work together on training initiatives, knowledge-sharing platforms, and programs designed to equip freelancers with the tools and expertise needed to compete in global markets.
