ISLAMABAD: The Embassy of Pakistan in Beirut successfully evacuated 170 Pakistani labourers employed on the construction of the new US Embassy complex in the Lebanese capital.
Foreign Office (FO) spokesperson, Tahir Andrabi, said that the evacuation process was carried out with the full cooperation of the concerned company.
The Embassy of Pakistan stated that the evacuation process was part of their efforts to ensure the safety of Pakistani nationals during the current situation in Lebanon.

The Embassy added that the welfare of overseas Pakistanis is their top priority, and they are always ready to provide assistance to them.
The decision to evacuate Pakistani nationals was taken following intense missile strikes on Lebanon by Israel in the aftermath of US-Israel attacks on Iran. The war in Iran has entered the second week, leaving hundreds dead and paralysing global economies, especially due to the closure of the Straits of Hormuz.
