Online platform launched for registration of SME clusters

KARACHI: The government has launched an online platform registering more than 200 small and medium enterprise (SME) clusters — spanning sectors as diverse as honey production and olive oil processing — bringing them together on a single digital portal to expand their access to national and international markets.

The development was announced during a high-level meeting chaired by Haroon Akhtar Khan, Special Assistant to the Prime Minister on Industries and Production, held to review initiatives aimed at strengthening Pakistan’s SME sector.

Addressing the meeting, Haroon Akhtar Khan said the platform, established in line with the vision of Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif, will enable SME clusters to gain greater visibility and improve connectivity with buyers and markets both at home and abroad.

He further announced that the Small and Medium Enterprises Development Authority (SMEDA) will provide dedicated training to registered clusters in value addition, branding, and export development — equipping them to compete more effectively in global markets.
