ISLAMABAD: Jamaat-e-Islami (JI) Pakistan on Wednesday strongly condemned the United States and Israel’s attacks on Iran and announced plans to hold nationwide protests on Friday against US and Israeli aggression. The party also expressed solidarity with the government and people of Iran amid the escalating regional situation.

JI chief Hafiz Naeemur Rehman stated this while addressing a news conference following the JI delegation’s meeting with the Iranian Ambassador to Pakistan. Other party leaders, including Naib Emir Mian Aslam, Deputy Secretary General Farasat Shah, JI Islamabad Emir Nasrullah Randhawa, Secretary Information Shakil Ahmed Turabi, and Ataur Rehman were also present on the occasion.

Hafiz Naeem strongly criticized the United States, Israel, and India, describing them as an “evil trinity.” He also termed the so-called Gaza Peace Board, formed under US President Donald Trump, a deception and demanded that the Government of Pakistan immediately withdraw from it.

During the meeting with Iranian Ambassador Reza Amiri Moghadam, he conveyed condolences over the martyrdom of Iranian leaders, including Supreme Leader Ali Khamenei, in Israeli and American aggression. He offered prayers for the departed and assured the ambassador that the people of Pakistan and Jamaat-e-Islami stand firmly with Iran in the current situation.

The Iranian ambassador thanked Hafiz Naeemur Rehman for the expression of solidarity and appreciated Jamaat-e-Islami’s efforts for Muslim unity.

During the press conference, the JI chief urged both the government and opposition in Pakistan to unequivocally condemn the US-Israel attack on Iran. He stated that defeating the nefarious designs of the US and Israel in Iran was essential, warning that failure to do so could embolden Zionist expansionism in the region.

Hafiz said President Trump has violated international law and called for him to be declared a war criminal. He said that the US and Israel had imposed war on Iran and targeted political leadership, terming it one of the darkest chapters in modern history. He further said that children had been killed in the initial phase of the conflict and criticized Western silence as evidence of double standards.
