KARACHI: Syed Nasir Hussain Shah has made an urgent appeal for national restraint following the “deeply regrettable” attacks on Iran, which he said resulted in the “martyrdom of Supreme Commander Ayatollah Seyyed Ali Khamenei and others.”
Expressing deep sorrow over the incidents in a statement on Sunday, Shah said that this pain and grief is shared by all. Highlighting the sense of collective mourning, he said, “Everyone has emotions, and we respect everyone’s feelings; we ourselves are also very sad.”
The politician strictly warned the Pakistani people, religious parties, and other organisations against any violent demonstrations. He warned that if protests turn violent or people take the law into their own hands, it will directly benefit “the enemy’s plans.”
Shah emphasised that it is the responsibility of every citizen to control their emotions, and said that the Pakistani government has already offered its support to Iran at all levels. He mentioned that Pakistan has tried to stop this war through the United Nations and on other diplomatic fronts.
