LAHORE: In a remarkable feat that has drawn praise from across the province, nine-year-old Syed Jagir Ali Akbar has emerged as Pakistan’s youngest web development expert, earning recognition as the second youngest in the world to achieve the distinction.
The fourth-grade student was honoured by Punjab Governor Sardar Saleem Haider, who termed the accomplishment “extraordinary” and a moment of pride for the entire Pakistani nation.
Jagir began using a computer at the age of three and formally enrolled in information technology training at seven. Within a few years, he developed skills in search engine optimisation (SEO), freelancing, digital marketing and social media marketing before advancing to web development.
He is now proficient in WordPress, JavaScript and HTML, with working knowledge of both front-end and back-end development.
Earlier, Punjab Minister for Education Rana Sikandar Hayat also acknowledged the young student’s achievement and credited his parents and teachers for their continued guidance and support.
Outlining his future ambitions, Jagir said he intends to specialise in data science and contribute to Pakistan’s digital progress. He also urged fellow students to use technology constructively to help strengthen the country’s future.
