LAHORE: Chief of Jamaat-e-Islami Pakistan Emir Hafiz Naeemur Rehman has strongly condemned the joint attack by the United States and Israel on Iran, terming it open terrorism and warning that the entire region is being pushed toward a devastating war.
In a statement posted on social media platform X, he said: “The joint attack by the United States and Israel on Iran is open terrorism. The entire region is being pushed into war.”
He said, “Once again America has used negotiations as a tool of deception. Donald Trump’s Board of Peace is in fact a Board of War. The United States and Israel have put the whole Middle East at risk in pursuit of their sinister objectives.”
The JI Emir said Muslim rulers must open their eyes. Over the past 25 years, he added, several stable Muslim countries have been targeted under American patronage, spreading chaos and instability there.
He said, “The U.S. ambassador to Israel is openly supporting the plan for a Greater Israel. Pakistani rulers should also remember this lesson well: America is no one’s true friend.”
Commenting on the escalating tensions between Pakistan and Afghanistan, Hafiz Naeemur Rehman said that the situation moving toward a formal conflict was extremely alarming and deeply distressing for the people of both neighbouring Muslim countries. He said Pakistan’s security and defense are the foremost priority of 250 million Pakistanis, but stressed that war between Pakistan and Afghanistan would serve no one’s interests.
He warned that the Pakistan–Afghanistan crisis was intensifying at a time when India and Israel were aligned in Tel Aviv, calling this nexus deadly for the Muslim world. He urged the Taliban leadership to understand that India could never be their friend and that hostility with Pakistan would only benefit anti-Islam forces.
The JI chief said that the United States had shifted the focus of war to divert global attention from its war crimes in Gaza. He cautioned Afghan leadership against adopting any course that might isolate them from the Muslim world and strengthen Islamophobic powers.
Criticizing the Government of Pakistan for avoiding national consultation at such a critical moment, Hafiz Naeemur Rehman said it was incomprehensible that no joint session of Parliament had been convened. He demanded immediate parliamentary deliberations and comprehensive consultations with all stakeholders to evolve a unified national stance.
He also urged leading scholars of the Muslim world to play their historic role in defusing tensions between Pakistan and Afghanistan and preventing a catastrophic conflict. He called on China, Türkiye, Qatar, and Saudi Arabia to renew diplomatic efforts to normalize relations between the two neighbouring countries.
He said the Pakistan–Saudi Arabia defense cooperation was unbearable for Israel, adding that every effort to promote unity and solidarity in the Muslim world was being sabotaged as part of a broader agenda by hostile forces.
