Decision regarding SPPRA necessary for electricity sector: Sharjeel
KARACHI: Sindh Senior Minister and Sindh Minister for Information, Transport and Mass Transit Sharjeel Inam Memon, on Tuesday, said that the decisions taken by the Sindh Cabinet, keeping public interest in mind, are the need of the hour.
In a statement, the measures such as energy regulation, cooperation in social services, development projects and the reforms in the business environment will provide the province with an opportunity to move forward.
He said that the decision regarding SPPRA was necessary to enhance transparency in the electricity sector and ensure better services for consumers. The cooperation with Balochistan in autism rehabilitation services is a positive step towards promoting inter-provincial harmony.
The Senior Minister said that the Thar Rail Connectivity Project represents a fundamental change for the country’s economy and for local residents. The project will improve coal transportation and boost economic activity in the region.
He said that digital reforms and the S-BOSS system are designed to simplify business processes and improve coordination among government departments. These digital initiatives will enhance transparency and convenience in the business sector.
He said that the Women Agriculture Workers Rules- 2026 have been formulated for the welfare of women and to ensure equal opportunities, adding that protecting women’s rights has always been a top priority of the Sindh government.
