CCP holds seminar on competition laws

Published Updated

ISLAMABAD: Member Competition Commission of Pakistan Bushra Naz Malik has reiterated the Commission’s commitment to ensuring a level playing field for businesses in Pakistan, stating that a healthy competitive environment is essential for sustainable economic growth, innovation, and consumer welfare.

Addressing a seminar on competition laws, CCP Member underscored the critical role of young scholars and future legal professionals in promoting a culture of compliance with competition law. She noted that building awareness among students is vital for shaping ethical business practices and strengthening the rule of law in the country.

“Effective enforcement of competition law ensures that markets remain open, fair, and free from anti-competitive practices such as cartels, abuse of dominance, and deceptive marketing. This not only protects consumers from exploitation but also encourages efficiency, innovation, and investment,” she said.

She added that informed legal professionals and business leaders can play a transformative role in promoting compliance and discouraging anti-competitive conduct in their respective fields.
