KARACHI: Governor Sindh Kamran Khan Tessori, appreciated the performance of the Federal Ministry of Information Technology, stating that these initiatives have significantly increased Pakistan’s IT exports and projected its positive image at the global level.
Addressing the signing ceremony of the USF Digital Connectivity Projects, here at the Governor House on Sunday, the Governor said that Pakistan is rapidly securing its place among the leading countries of the world in the fields IT and artificial intelligence.
The Governor said that the “Indus AI Week” held in Islamabad marked an important milestone in Pakistan’s history. The diplomats from various countries including the United States and Saudi Arabia acknowledged Pakistan’s capabilities in IT and AI.
The digital connectivity projects in Sindh districts including Badin and Sanghar are equivalent to connecting these areas with the world as internet access in the modern era forms the foundation of economic growth and business opportunities.
He emphasized that digitalization of government institutions is the need of the hour, particularly the elimination of the manual system in the revenue department to curb corruption.
“The sooner systems are digitised, the faster transparency and good governance will be promoted.”
He informed that 500,000 individuals appeared for the IT courses test at the Governor House and currently 50,000 students are studying in one session. Thousands of young people, after completing courses in web designing, AI and other modern skills, are earning between 1,200 and 2,000 US dollars per month through freelancing, which is a positive step toward economic stability for Pakistan.
