LAHORE: The district administrations within the Lahore division have begun setting up Ramazan bazaars and food distribution tables at the tehsil level to provide affordable and quality food items.

During a meeting of the Peace Committee held on Saturday to review the arrangements for Ramazan bazaars and the Ramazan Dastarkhwan, Commissioner Lahore Marryam Khan emphasised the importance of municipal and security preparations ahead of Ramazan. The meeting included participation from Ulema-e-kram, Peace Committee members, and various district administrative departments. Additional attendees included DIG Operations Dr Faisal Kamran, DC Lahore Captain Ali Ijaz, and SSP Operations Tauqeer Ahmed, while the DCs and DPOs from all districts and scholars participated via video link.

The Commissioner further stated that the administration will maintain strong communication with the peace committee members. She noted that, following the instructions of the Chief Minister of Punjab, the administration is ensuring proper municipal and security arrangements for Ramazan.

On this occasion, DIG Operations Lahore Faisal Kamran announced that there will be security personnel stationed at mosques and Imambargahs during key hours. “Safe City has been contacted to monitor security at larger mosques and Imambargahs,” he added.

DIG Kamran also mentioned that security arrangements have been finalised for Shahadat Ali Day, which falls on the 21st of Ramazan.

The Peace Committee members commended the administration’s efforts and expressed their support for peace and unity, stating that no one is permitted to create division or chaos.
