K-Electric appoints Adeeb Ahmad as interim CEO

  • Development comes week after Moonis Alvi resigned from his position as power utility’s CEO

K-Electric (KE) appointed on Friday Adeeb Ahmad as the company’s interim chief executive officer (CEO) with immediate effect.

The development came a week after Moonis Alvi resigned from his position as the power utility’s CEO.

“Further to the announcement at the Pakistan Stock Exchange (PSX) dated February 06, 2026, the board of directors of K-Electric in its meeting held on Friday has appointed Adeeb Ahmad as Interim Chief Executive Officer of the company in place of Syed Moonis Abdullah Alvi with immediate effect,” the KE said in a statement.

According to information available on the KE website, Ahmad’s career spans 34 years including C-suite roles. He has been involved in managing private equity funds, M&A (mergers and acquisitions) and transformation focused on energy and other infrastructure sectors across MENA, Turkey, CIS, Southeast Asia, and Pakistan.

He has been engaged with investment banking institutions in the GCC and Pakistan several M&A, privatisation and capital raising assignments. He recently served as the CEO of Hascol Petroleum Limited.

Ahmad has also served as Senior Advisor to the CEO and Deputy CEO-Designate at Islamic Corporation for the Development of the Private Sector (ICD) in Saudi Arabia. He holds an M.Sc. from the LSE, UK, and an MBA from IBA, Karachi.
