Nasir Shah chairs high-level meeting: Work on 173 major roads to be initiated in phases
KARACHI: Provincial Minister for Local Government Sindh Syed Nasir Hussain Shah presided over a high-level meeting regarding ongoing and proposed development schemes in Karachi which was attended by Mayor Karachi Murtaza Wahab, Additional Chief Secretary Waseem Shamshad, Commissioner Karachi Hassan Naqvi, Chairman CMIT Bilal Ahmed Memon, DG Mega Projects Ghani Shaikh and other concerned officials.
The meeting reviewed in detail projects related to improvement of city infrastructure, traffic management, street lighting and municipal facilities and directed that the pace of implementation be accelerated.
The meeting was informed that construction and rehabilitation work on 173 major roads across the city would be initiated in phases including roads connecting key commercial centres and residential areas.
The Provincial Minister directed that use of quality material and completion within stipulated timelines must be ensured so that durable facilities could be provided to citizens.
