ISLAMABAD: Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif on Thursday congratulated the nation on the successful launch of the Earth Observation Satellite (EO-2), a significant leap forward in the country’s space capabilities.
Developed in collaboration with China, EO-2 is expected to play a key role in monitoring environmental changes, enhancing weather forecasting, and supporting urban planning and agricultural management.
In a statement after the launch, PM Sharif commended the dedication of Pakistani scientists and researchers who contributed to the satellite’s development.
He emphasized that their efforts would help position Pakistan as a leader in space technology, strengthening its ability to tackle challenges such as climate change, disaster management, and urban development.
“This satellite will provide vital data for improving weather monitoring, environmental management, and informed decision-making in urban and rural planning,” he added.
