World urged to take serious notice: India turns occupied Kashmir into military garrison: PPP
LAHORE: Former prime minister and president of Pakistan Peoples Party (PPP), Central Punjab, Raja Pervez Ashraf, has said that India has transformed occupied Kashmir into a military garrison and urged the international community to take serious notice of the situation.
In a message on Kashmir Solidarity Day, Raja Pervez Ashraf said that freedom is no less than a blessing, and the people of the occupied valley understand its true value better than anyone.
He reaffirmed that the entire Pakistani nation stands shoulder to shoulder with its Kashmiri brothers and sisters and will not rest until they are granted their right to self-determination.
He said that India has converted the whole of occupied Kashmir into a military camp and called on international human rights organisations to take notice of Indian oppression and repression in the valley.
He added that the third generation of the Bhutto family is today continuing the struggle for the rights of the Kashmiri people, and reiterated that a just resolution of the Kashmir issue is part of Pakistan Peoples Partys manifesto.
PPP Secretary Information, Shehzad Saeed Cheema, in his message said that like Gaza, Kashmir has become a global flashpoint. He added that Pakistanis around the world are expressing solidarity with the Kashmiri people.
He said the day serves as a reminder of the suffering, sacrifices, and resilience of the oppressed Kashmiris, and questioned the silence of international human rights institutions and organizations. He further added that the day is not far when the sun of freedom will rise over the occupied valley as well.
