Uzbek President visits GIDS, explores defence and industrial cooperation with Pakistan

President of the Republic of Uzbekistan, Shavkat Mirziyoyev, along with senior members of his delegation, paid an official visit to Global Industrial & Defence Solutions (GIDS) on Thursday as part of his ongoing visit to Pakistan, the Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR) said.
Field Marshal Syed Asim Munir, Chief of Army Staff and Chief of Defence Forces, received the Uzbek president and accompanied the delegation during the visit to the facility.
During the visit, President Mirziyoyev was briefed on GIDS’ wide-ranging portfolio, including advanced defence solutions, industrial capabilities and technological innovations.

The delegation also toured key facilities and observed a range of defence products, highlighting Pakistan’s progress in indigenous defence manufacturing and industrial development.
According to ISPR, the visit reflected the shared commitment of Pakistan and Uzbekistan to enhance cooperation in defence, technology and industrial sectors.
Both sides stressed the importance of expanding partnerships, promoting knowledge exchange and exploring opportunities for joint ventures.
The visit was described as a significant step towards strengthening bilateral ties and identifying multiple avenues of collaboration between Pakistan and Uzbekistan.
