ISLAMABAD: Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif on Tuesday reaffirmed Pakistan’s commitment to strengthening its bilateral ties with Libya during a meeting with a high-level Libyan delegation.

The Libyan delegation was led by Dr Osama Saad Hamad, Prime Minister of the Libyan Government, and included prominent figures such as Field Marshal Khalifa Abu-al-Qasim Haftar, Commander-in-Chief of the Libyan Arab Armed Forces, and Lt Gen Saddam Khalifa Haftar, Deputy Commander-in-Chief of the Libyan Arab Armed Forces.

During the discussions, both sides exchanged views on a range of issues of mutual interest, emphasising the importance of continued dialogue and engagement.

The meeting highlighted the shared desire to bolster cooperation in areas of common concern, with a focus on promoting peace, stability, and development both regionally and globally.

The Libyan leadership expressed appreciation for Pakistan’s role in international affairs and conveyed a keen interest in expanding bilateral collaboration.

The talks concluded with an agreement to maintain close communication and explore new avenues for future cooperation.

Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Ishaq Dar, along with Chief of Defence Forces (CDF) Field Marshal Syed Asim Munir, also attended the meeting.
