ISLAMABAD: International Constitutional lawyer Muhammad Azhar Siddique has issued a notice to the Federal Board of Revenue (FBR) accusing that “Inland Revenue Service Officers Association” (IRSOA), has been unlawfully using the official name, address and resources of the FBR.
According to a formal notice addressed directly to FBR chairman by Siddique, it has been alleged that the association has been misrepresenting itself as an officially recognised body operating from FBR Headquarters, Islamabad.
The notice highlighted several grave concerns including unauthorised use of FBR HQ address. The entity has been using “IRSOA Secretariat, FBR Headquarters, Islamabad” on its letterhead, creating a false impression of official recognition and institutional approval. The association lists [email protected] as its contact email, which appears non-functional and non-responsive to inquiries, it has been accused in the notice.
The notices sent to the purported members of IRSOA at the FBR HQ address were returned by Pakistan Post with the notation that no such association exists at the location.
The legal notice demands that FBR immediately conduct a thorough investigation into the existence, operations, and membership of the IRSOA. The legal team has called to uphold the dignity of the FBR and the integrity of the Revenue Division, Azhar added.
