PESHAWAR: A delegation of the Asian Development Bank (ADB) mission visited Mardan to review the construction progress of the ongoing Sewerage Treatment Plant (STP) and directed the concerned authorities to ensure its early completion.
The delegation also visited the office of the Water and Sanitation Services Company Mardan (WSSCM).
On this occasion, a special meeting was held under the joint chairmanship of Chairman Board of Directors Engineer Adil Nawaz and Chief Executive Officer Shahid Khan to review the progress of the project.
The forum was briefed that under the Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Cities Improvement Project (KPCIP), a modern sewerage treatment plant is being constructed through which domestic sewerage connections of six urban union councils will be connected for treatment. Construction work on an 82-kilometer sewerage network is in full swing and will be completed within the stipulated timeframe.
Under the project, 4,300 manholes and 13,000 sewerage connections will be constructed. The STP is being built on 17 acres of land and will treat six million gallons of wastewater daily through the activated sludge process.
