HYDERABAD: A delegation from the US Consulate General Karachi, in collaboration with the United States Educational Foundation in Pakistan (USEFP) and the Education USA advising network, conducted a special information session at Shah Abdul Latif University (SALU), Khairpur on Today.

The event aimed to guide undergraduate students interested in pursuing higher education and exchange programs in the United States.

The visiting team included Belal Rizvi, Emerging Voices Specialist from the US Consulate; Zulfiqar Ali Bhutto, Program Officer from USEFP; and Aamna Chandna, an Education USA Adviser.

They hosted an interactive outreach session at the university’s Students Society Centre, which was open to all students under an open invitation extended by the university administration.

The program detailed two primary pathways for US study. First, comprehensive information was provided on the prestigious Fulbright Scholarship Program, the US government’s flagship international educational exchange initiative.

Second, the session delivered practical guidance for students considering independent applications, covering the entire process from standardized testing and university applications to financial planning.

Earlier, the delegation met with senior university officials, including Pro-Vice Chancellor Professor Dr Wahid Bux Jatoi, several deans, and faculty members. Discussions during the meeting cantered on areas of mutual interest and explored potential opportunities for academic collaboration between US institutions and SALU.

Education USA, a US Department of State-supported network, offers students worldwide accurate and comprehensive guidance on studying at accredited US institutions. This visit underscores a continued commitment to promoting academic exchange and supporting the educational aspirations of Pakistani students.

University officials encouraged all students to engage directly with such opportunities to learn more about the procedures and possibilities for undergraduate study in the United States.

Deans Professor Dr Ghulam Mustafa Mashori, Professor Dr Noor Ahmed Shaikh, Professor Dr Minhoon Khan Laghari, Dr Sahib Oad and others were present on the occasion.
