Islamabad Marathon tomorrow

Published Updated

ISLAMABAD: Chief Executive of Islamabad Run Club, Qasim Naz, on Thursday announced that the Islamabad Marathon will be held on January 25, with runners from 30 countries expected to participate.

Addressing a press conference, he said the initiative to promote a running culture in the capital began in 2016, while the first full marathon in Islamabad was organised in 2020. He added that the upcoming event will be the sixth edition of the Islamabad Marathon.

Naz said members of the diplomatic community will also take part in the marathon, reflecting the growing international profile of the event.

He said the marathon will feature multiple categories including 5km, 10km, half marathon, and full marathon, catering to runners of different levels.

According to the announced route, the marathon will start from F-9 Park at 8:00am, pass through Jinnah Avenue towards D-Chowk, and conclude back at F-9 Park.

Naz said participants will be provided water and medical facilities every 2.5 kilometres to ensure safety and comfort during the race.
