Trade conference marks successful conclusion of ‘WEXNET Peshawar’
PESHAWAR: The second and final day of WEXNET Peshawar, organised by the Trade Development Authority of Pakistan (TDAP), featured a high-level Trade Conference followed by a Closing Ceremony, marking the successful conclusion of the women-led trade exhibition in Peshawar.
The Trade Conference was graced by H.E. Thomas Eckert, Consul General of the United States in Peshawar, as the Chief Guest. In his address, he highlighted the importance of women’s economic participation, inclusive trade growth, and strengthened international trade linkages through entrepreneurship and innovation.
The conference sessions focused on export readiness, access to global markets, digital trade, and institutional support mechanisms for women entrepreneurs. Women-led enterprises from all four provinces, as well as Gilgit-Baltistan and Azad Jammu & Kashmir, actively participated, reflecting the national representation and inclusive spirit of WEXNET.
The event concluded with the Closing Ceremony, which was graced by Faisal Karim Kundi, Honourable Governor of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, as the Chief Guest. In his remarks, the Governor appreciated TDAP’s efforts in promoting women entrepreneurship and emphasized the role of women-led businesses in strengthening the provincial and national economy.
The Honourable Governor also interacted with women entrepreneurs, visited exhibition stalls, and encouraged participants to leverage platforms like WEXNET to expand their businesses and access new markets.
WEXNET Peshawar concluded on a positive note with renewed commitment from stakeholders to continue supporting women entrepreneurs and fostering an enabling environment for their participation in domestic and international trade.
