Published Updated

LAHORE: The Lahore Development Authority (LDA) has sealed 83 properties during a crackdown against illegal commercial buildings and commercial fee defaulters in various housing schemes.

According to the LDA on Tuesday, their teams carried out operations on Ferozepur Road, Gujarpura, Shadman 1, Shadman 2, Defence Road, and Revenue Society Johar Town. A total of 16 properties were sealed on Ferozepur Road, while 27 properties in Gujarpura and Shadman 1 and 2 were sealed due to illegal commercial use and non-payment of commercial fees.

Additionally, 30 properties in Revenue Society Johar Town and 10 properties on Defence Road were also sealed during the recovery operation. The sealed properties included wedding halls, marquees, furniture shops, shoe shops, clothing stores, private schools, clinics, grocery stores, shops, offices, restaurants, food points, beauty salons, and building material stores.

LDA Chief Town Planner Asad-uz-Zaman and Chief Town Planner 2 Azhar Ali supervised the operations, with participation from the Enforcement Wing, LDA Security, and local police. The LDA said that indiscriminate action will continue against illegal commercial buildings and commercial fee defaulters.
