‘Breaching chamber protocol’: LCCI EC terminates Shad’s membership

LAHORE: The LCCI Executive Committee has terminated the basic membership of Mian Abuzar Shad after disciplinary proceedings found him guilty of conduct derogatory to the chamber.

The decision was taken of the considering his reply to the Show Cause issued to him.

The Executive Committee discussed the reply to the show Cause threadbare and found it far beyond the facts.

The LCCI Executive Committee maintained that discipline, decorum, and respect for institutional hierarchy are fundamental to the functioning of the Chamber. Any behavior that disrupts the professional environment, particularly within the office of the President, cannot be tolerated, regardless of an individual’s past position or status.

After due consideration, the Executive Committee decided to remove his basic membership with immediate effect to uphold the dignity and credibility of the institution.

The Executive Committee emphasized that the Chamber remains committed to transparent governance, rule of law, and equal accountability for all members. “No individual is above the institution.”

The decision reflects LCCI’s zero-tolerance policy towards misconduct and reinforces its commitment to maintaining a professional and respectful environment for members, and visiting delegations, including foreign guests.
