KARACHI: Korangi Association of Trade and Industry (KATI) has termed the timely foiling of a major terrorist plot in Karachi as a major achievement for the Sindh government, police, and security agencies, stating that the operation saved the city from a potential catastrophe.

KATI President Muhammad Ikram Rajput, Acting Patron-in-Chief Zubair Chhaya, and Chairman of the Law and Order Committee Danish Khan paid tribute to the Sindh Police and other law enforcement agencies for their swift, professional, and effective action, which they said ensured the protection of countless innocent lives and safeguarded the city’s economic and commercial infrastructure.

KATI President Muhammad Ikram Rajput said that the successful disruption of the terrorist plan was the result of coordinated efforts by the Sindh government and law enforcement authorities.

He congratulated Sindh Interior Minister Zia-ul-Hassan Lanjar, Inspector General of Police Javed Alam Odho (IG Sindh), Additional Inspector General Azad Khan Tanoli, the Counter Terrorism Department (CTD), and other security institutions for their vigilance and decisive response.

He emphasized that if the terrorists had succeeded in carrying out their plan, Karachi could have faced a massive disaster, leading to the loss of numerous precious human lives and severe economic damage.

“The recovery of a mini-truck loaded with approximately 2,000 kilograms of explosive material clearly indicates the scale of destruction the terrorists intended to cause,” Rajput said, adding that the Sindh Police’s timely intervention prevented a tragedy of unprecedented magnitude.

The KATI president further stated that this operation demonstrates that the Sindh Police is not only actively engaged in crime prevention but also fully capable of protecting the lives and property of citizens through intelligence-led, professional policing.

He praised the courage, discipline, and professionalism of the police personnel, noting that their actions prove that even the most serious security challenges can be overcome when institutions perform their duties with commitment and coordination.

Acting Patron-in-Chief Zubair Chhaya said that the successful operation ensured the safety of citizens and protected the city from a grave security threat.

He lauded the professionalism of the Sindh Police and other law enforcement agencies, stating that such decisive actions strengthen the confidence of investors, traders, and the business community in Karachi’s security environment.

Zubair Chhaya added that the operation conducted in Rais Goth, Baldia Town, demonstrated that the Sindh Police is now operating on modern lines, with the capacity to conduct timely and intelligence-based operations.
