KARACHI: In a major boost to public transportation, Sindh Chief Minister Syed Murad Ali Shah hailed the inauguration of the new double-decker bus service in the city and described it as a special gift to the Karachiites.

The launch marks a significant step toward modernising urban mobility in Pakistan’s largest metropolis, the CM said.

In a statement issued from the CM House on Wednesday, Shah extended his congratulations to Karachi’s people on the commencement of this innovative service. “The people of Karachi deserve better travel facilities,” he emphasised, underscoring his government’s commitment to improving daily commutes.

Murad Shah described the initiative as a “welcome development for the public,” noting that the new bus service will make travel easier and more efficient for residents. “Karachi is not just running; it is moving forward,” he declared, painting a vision of progress amid the city’s bustling challenges.

Highlighting the transformative potential, the Chief Minister stated, “Today the bus has started; tomorrow the city will change.” He added that better travel for Karachi is no longer just a promise but a practical reality, with modern transport symbolising urban dignity and a convenient life.

The double-decker buses, equipped with state-of-the-art features, aim to reduce congestion and provide affordable, reliable options for commuters. CM Murad Shah stressed the broader impact: “When civic facilities are strengthened, cities become strong.” He pledged to elevate Karachi to the ranks of modern global cities through such initiatives.

This launch aligns with ongoing efforts to enhance public transport infrastructure in Sindh’s capital, promising reduced travel times, greater accessibility, and a greener footprint.
