Security czar says no travel abroad for beggars, those with incomplete documents
- Reviews immigration process at Lahore airport, orders immediate relief for delayed passenger
Federal Interior Minister Mohsin Naqvi on Sunday stated that professional beggars or individuals with incomplete documents cannot be allowed to travel, and those who bring disrepute to Pakistan belong in jail.
“The dignity of Pakistan and the convenience of passengers are the highest priorities, and no passenger will be stopped from travelling without justification,” the interior minister said during a visit to the Lahore airport, where he reviewed the immigration process for passengers travelling abroad. He was accompanied by Minister of State for Interior Talal Chaudhry.
They visited the immigration counters, observed the procedures, met with passengers, and asked about the process. The interior minister appreciated and encouraged a Federal Investigation Agency (FIA) official for good performance at the immigration counter.

A passenger complained that his boarding had been closed due to a delay in checking. The interior minister directed the relevant authorities to facilitate the boarding of the passenger travelling to Kuwait. Passengers stated that the immigration process was being completed within a few minutes.
Regional Director FIA Lahore Ali Zia and Deputy Director Airport Owais were also present on the occasion.
Director General of FIA Raja Riffat Mukhtar on Wednesday said that illegal migration and begging rings are severely damaging Pakistan’s international image and because of this phenomenon, 66,154 passengers were offloaded this year, a significant increase from the 35,000 offloaded the previous year.
He made these staggering revelations during a meeting of the National Assembly’s Standing Committee on Overseas Pakistanis and Human Resource Development, chaired by Syed Rafiullah.
The DG FIA reported that 56,000 beggars were deported from Saudi Arabia and the United Arab Emirates (UAE). The latter has put in place restrictions on visas.
