Non-compliance of pension order: SHC issues arrest warrants for DG CAA

KARACHI: The Sindh High Court’s constitutional bench has issued arrest warrants for the director general (DG) of the Civil Aviation Authority (CAA) for failing to implement a court order regarding the payment of pension to a retired officer.

In a case where a retired officer was denied pension despite clear judicial instructions, the court took a strong step, ordering the arrest of the DG Civil Aviation Authority. The arrest warrants are bailable with a bond of Rs 100,000.

The officer’s lawyer informed the court that the Additional Director of Medical Services, Dr. Karim, had already been instructed to process the pension payment. However, despite the court order, the DG of Civil Aviation Authority had not complied since 2022.

The high court has further directed the DG to appear before the court in the first week of the upcoming holiday period and ensure immediate implementation of the court’s order.
