RAWALPINDI: The 8th edition of the Pakistan Navy's Maritime Security Workshop concluded at Pakistan Navy War College, Lahore. Chairman Senate Syed Yousaf Raza Gilani graced the occasion as the Chief Guest.
During his address, the Chief Guest highlighted the vast potential of Pakistan’s blue economy and the growing strategic importance of oceans in the 21st century. He commended the Pakistan Navy for its vital role in ensuring regional maritime security and safeguarding national maritime interests. He further stressed the need to enhance the nation’s shipping and fishing sectors to support the economic growth and socio-economic development.
Upon arrival, the Chief Guest was received by Admiral Naveed Ashraf, NI, NI (M), Chief of the Naval Staff. Commandant PN War College briefed participants on the workshop’s activities.
The annual Maritime Security Workshop brings together parliamentarians, policymakers, academics, entrepreneurs, Armed Forces officers and media representatives to deepen national understanding of maritime security and the evolving dynamics of the wider Indian Ocean region.
