ISLAMABAD: Adventure Foundation Pakistan (AFP) held its Annual General Meeting (AGM) at the Adventure Complex in Islamabad to elect new office bearers for the forthcoming term, and AGM unanimously elected Syed Abu Ahmad Akif as President for 2025-26.
The meeting was chaired by outgoing President Ali Hasan Habib, who acknowledged the contributions of AFP members and volunteers. The minutes of the previous Annual General Meeting held on October 26, 2024, were presented and approved by the general body.
A performance review covering the period from July 2024 to June 2025 was presented, outlining progress in outdoor education, adventure learning, youth engagement, and environmental responsibility.
The audited financial statements for the financial year 2024–25 were also presented and unanimously approved. The proposed activity plan for 2025–26 was discussed, with a recommendation to include additional winter programmes.
The general body elected the new Council for the upcoming term. The elected office bearers are Syed Abu Ahmad Akif as President; Col Abbas Hussain Naqvi (retd), Dr Adnan Latif, and Jahan Ara Mueen as Vice Presidents; and Brig Ghulam Haider (retd) as Honorary Secretary, Public Relations.
Council members include Dr. Tasnim Azim, Azal Zahir, Bushra Javed, Rab Nawaz, and Huma Mustafa. Following the elections, Ali Hasan Habib administered the oath of office to the newly elected Council members. The meeting concluded with appreciation for the outgoing Council and a reaffirmation of AFP’s commitment to promoting safe, responsible, and educational outdoor activities and youth leadership development in Pakistan.
