KARACHI: Chairman Businessmen Group (BMG) Zubair Motiwala and President Karachi Chamber of Commerce & Industry (KCCI) Rehan Hanif have expressed their heartfelt congratulations to Field Marshal Asim Munir on his historic appointment as Pakistan’s first Chief of Defense Forces (CDF) for a five-year term.

Zubair Motiwala and Rehan Hanif observed that this landmark development, which created a unified command structure for all branches of the Armed Forces, reflected a forward-looking national vision aimed at strengthening Pakistan’s security framework, enhancing strategic cohesion, and improving operational readiness in an increasingly complex global and regional environment.

They further pointed out that Field Marshal Munir’s long and distinguished career, spanning senior military and intelligence leadership and culminating in his elevation to the rank of Field Marshal earlier this year, had demonstrated his deep understanding of the country’s defense needs. They believed that his leadership at this crucial moment would instil greater confidence among the state, its institutions, the public, and the business community.

Chairman BMG and President KCCI emphasized that for the business sector, stability, security, and a predictable policy environment remained fundamental prerequisites for investment, industrial growth, and economic development. They reaffirmed the business community’s full support for all national efforts aimed at protecting Pakistan’s sovereignty, promoting internal order, and strengthening institutional capacity. They reiterated their readiness to work alongside the state’s leadership to contribute toward economic progress, prosperity, and long-term national stability.

They also informed that the leadership of the Karachi Chamber had extended a formal invitation to CDF Field Marshal Asim Munir to visit KCCI which would offer the business and industrial community a valuable opportunity to pay tribute to his patriotic services, far-reaching contributions to national stability, and the achievements made under his leadership.

While once again conveying congratulations to Field Marshal Asim Munir, they expressed their hope that his tenure as CDF would usher in a new era of unity, strengthened defense, and national advancement.
