LAHORE: For the first time, the entire admission process will take place through a fully centralised online system run by the University of Health Sciences (UHS), as admissions to the BS Nursing Generic four-year programme in Punjab’s public sector nursing colleges will open on December 16.

According to a UHS spokesperson, online applications for 45 public sector nursing colleges will be accepted until January 6, 2026. The UHS has also issued the formal notification for the 2025-26 session.

A total of 3,100 seats are available in the morning shift and 1,400 in the evening shift. Admissions will be based on marks obtained in FSc Pre-Medical, and applicants must have at least 50 percent marks. Only candidates holding Punjab domicile are eligible, the spokesperson said, adding: “All applicants will be required to list their preferences for all colleges on the online portal. Of the 45 colleges, 44 are reserved for female students.

The nursing college of Government Teaching Hospital Shahdara is the only institution where admission will be offered to male applicants.
