ISLAMABAD: National Assembly Speaker Sardar Ayaz Sadiq has expressed deep sorrow over the tragic loss of lives and widespread destruction caused by recent floods in Sri Lanka, Indonesia, Malaysia, and Thailand.

In a message issued on Thursday, the Speaker extended heartfelt condolences to the families of those who lost their lives and conveyed solidarity with the affected governments, parliaments, and citizens during this humanitarian crisis.

Calling for swift and coordinated international assistance, Speaker Sadiq stressed the need for global cooperation to support relief, rescue, and rehabilitation efforts in the flood-hit countries. He urged the international community to mobilise resources and prioritise emergency measures to help affected populations recover.

Highlighting the growing frequency of natural disasters, the Speaker said such events are a stark reminder of the consequences of climate change. He noted that Pakistan, like many other developing nations, remains highly vulnerable to climate-related catastrophes.

Sardar Ayaz Sadiq reaffirmed Pakistan’s commitment to working with global partners to strengthen climate resilience and advance collective efforts aimed at mitigating future disasters. He emphasised that unity and cooperation are essential to ensuring timely relief and long-term rehabilitation for affected communities.
