ISLAMABAD: The Capital Development Authority (CDA) and the Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) signed a MoU on Wednesday to upgrade cricket grounds in Islamabad and launch a talent-hunt programme for young male and female players.
The agreement was signed during a meeting between CDA Chairman and Chief Commissioner, Islamabad Muhammad Ali Randhawa and PCB Chief Operating Officer Sameer Ahmed. Senior CDA officials, including Member Administration Talat Mehmood, Member Engineering Syed Nafeesat Raza, and Director of Sports and Culture, were also present.
Under the MoU, the CDA and PCB will jointly introduce a comprehensive talent-hunt initiative aimed at identifying and nurturing emerging cricketers across Islamabad. The programme will offer equal opportunities for boys and girls, ensure transparent selection, and provide professional coaching and training at par with international standards. PCB will also support CDA in upgrading two cricket grounds in the capital.
PCB COO Sameer Ahmed said the Board was fully committed to promoting cricket in Islamabad, adding that the initiative would not only strengthen the city’s cricketing ecosystem but also help discover promising young players.
