ISLAMABAD: Pakistan’s maritime future is rich with opportunity, and our Navy remains fully committed to securing it,” said Chief of the Naval Staff, Admiral Naveed Ashraf, while addressing participants of the 8th Maritime Security Workshop (MARSEW-8) during their visit to Naval Headquarters on Thursday.

The Naval Chief briefed the delegation on emerging maritime challenges, shifting regional dynamics, and the immense untapped potential of Pakistan’s Blue Economy. He highlighted the Pakistan Navy’s resilient defence during the Ma’rkah-e-Haqq and detailed its role in promoting regional stability through participation in the Combined Maritime Forces and the conduct of Regional Maritime Security Patrols.

Earlier, participants received briefings on contemporary maritime threats, the Navy’s maritime domain awareness initiatives, and development programmes aimed at improving the lives of coastal communities. The diverse MARSEW-8 group, comprising parliamentarians, bureaucrats, senior military officers, media representatives, entrepreneurs, academics, and business leaders, appreciated the Pakistan Navy’s steadfast commitment to safeguarding national maritime interests.

The participants also acknowledged the workshop’s significance in enhancing national maritime awareness and contributing to informed policymaking.
