KARACHI: The Karachi Metropolitan Corporation has decided to issue NOCs for the upgradation of key traffic junctions across the city, along with the installation of modern traffic signals.
A meeting was held at the KMC Head Office under the chairmanship of Mayor Karachi, Barrister Murtaza Wahab, and was attended by officials from the Transport Department, Sindh Mass Transit Authority, Yellow Line BRT, and other concerned bodies.
The Mayor directed KMC officials to immediately issue NOCs for the upgradation of four major junctions, including Eid Gah Nazimabad, Liaquatabad No. 10, Nishtar Road (Garden), and Arts Council.
He instructed that the installation of upgraded traffic signals— to be undertaken by the Transport Department and SMTA — be completed within one year.
Mayor Karachi also emphasised full cooperation in the removal of encroachments on KMC roads to ensure the smooth execution of these projects.
