Pakistan rejects Afghan Taliban’s allegations of conducting strikes inside Afghanistan
- Reaffirms Islamabad’s stance that its actions are directed solely against terrorism and not the Afghan people.
Pakistan conducts only declared and precise strikes and never targets civilians, Director General Inter-Services Public Relations (DG ISPR) Lt Gen. Ahmed Sharif Chaudhry said on Tuesday, refuting Kabul’s claims of air strikes in Paktika, Aaj News reported.
Briefing senior journalists, the military spokesperson said there is “no distinction between good and bad Taliban”, adding that both Tehreek-e-Taliban Afghanistan and the banned Tehreek-e-Taliban Pakistan (TTP) share the same ideological and operational roots.
Rebutting allegations from the Taliban administration in Kabul that Pakistan had carried out strikes inside Afghanistan, Lt. Gen. Chaudhry said Islamabad only undertakes announced and targeted operations, reaffirming Islamabad’s stance that its actions are directed solely against terrorism and not the Afghan people. He urged the Taliban authorities to act like a responsible state rather than a non-state actor.
He also highlighted the use of non-custom-paid vehicles in recent terror attacks and called for an immediate ban to curb their misuse.
The DG ISPR said Pakistan’s position remains clear: “Blood and business cannot go together.” He stressed that trade and terrorism cannot run side by side and that Pakistan will continue to defend itself. “We are on the right side, and the right will prevail,” he added.

Providing an operational update, he revealed that since November 4, security forces have conducted 4,910 counterterrorism operations, averaging 232 operations per day, while 336 terrorism incidents have been reported during this period.
Lt. Gen. Chaudhry also said an anti-state social media campaign was being run by a political party, with several related accounts operated from outside Pakistan.
Commenting on the ongoing legal proceedings involving former ISI chief Lt. Gen. (retd) Faiz Hameed, the DG ISPR said it was a matter before the courts and warned against speculation. He added that the public would be informed once the process reaches a conclusion.
