RAWALPINDI: The JF-17 Thunder Block-III emerged as a “major focal point” at the Dubai Airshow 2025, drawing significant attention from defence analysts, aviation specialists, and visitors.

According to the Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR), several countries expressed interest in acquiring the battle-tested multi-role aircraft, reflecting growing international confidence in Pakistan’s aviation industry.

A memorandum of understanding (MoU) was signed with a friendly country for the procurement of the fighter jet.

Pakistani troops, JF-17 fighter jets to feature in Azerbaijan’s Victory Day Parade

Air Chief Marshal Zaheer Ahmed Baber Sidhu, Chief of the Air Staff of the Pakistan Air Force (PAF), held a series of high-level meetings with air chiefs from friendly countries on the sidelines of the airshow.

He also met Lieutenant General Pilot Ibrahim Nasser Al-Alawi, Undersecretary of Defence UAE, and Major General Rashid Mohammed Al-Shamsi, Commander UAE Air Force & Air Defence.

The discussions focused on strengthening cooperation in advanced training, promoting collaboration in emerging aerospace technologies, and enhancing operational coordination.

The UAE military leadership praised the PAF’s modernisation efforts, growing indigenous capabilities, and commitment to regional security.

The PAF contingent, featuring the JF-17 Thunder Block-III and the Super Mushshak trainer aircraft, showcased the country’s growing expertise in military aviation.

The fighter’s advanced technology, strong combat capabilities, and proven operational performance in Marka-e-Haq reinforced its reputation as a cost-effective and highly capable multi-role jet.

The MoU marks another milestone in Pakistan’s expanding defence and industrial partnerships, highlighting the international appeal of the JF-17 and the PAF’s growing global footprint.
