ISLAMABAD: The Ministry of Information and Broadcasting on Thursday issued a detailed follow-up report on the recent terrorist attack on Cadet College Wana, revealing that the assault was planned, directed, and executed from Afghanistan with full involvement of Afghan-based militants belonging to the Khariji network.

According to the Ministry, the attack was planned inside Afghanistan by Kharji Zahid, while the final approval was issued by Kharji Noor Wali Mehsud, a senior terrorist commander operating from Afghan territory. All terrorists who carried out the attack were Afghan nationals, the statement added.

The Ministry disclosed that the equipment used in the assault, including weapons and explosives, was brought from Afghanistan and included American-made arms. It said the entire operation had direct links with militant bases across the border.

The statement further revealed that on the orders of Noor Wali Mehsud, the responsibility for the attack was deliberately shifted to a group identifying itself as “Jaish-ul-Hind.” The Ministry noted that this was an intentional tactic to divert attention away from Fitna-ul-Kharij (TTP) and to obscure the Afghan origin of the terrorists involved. The Afghan militant who appeared in the attack video repeatedly referenced “Jaish-ul-Hind” in line with these instructions.

According to the Ministry, the Afghan Taliban leadership pressures Fitna-ul-Khawarij groups not to publicly claim attacks, as such admissions increase diplomatic pressure on Kabul from Pakistan and other friendly nations.

The attack on Cadet College Wana, the Ministry stated, was carried out on the demand of the Indian intelligence agency RAW for heightening security concerns inside Pakistan. The Ministry emphasized that the identification of the Afghan terrorists killed during the incident provides firm evidence of the operational networks they maintain within Afghanistan.

The statement also referenced an earlier briefing by the Interior Minister, who had confirmed that the suicide bomber involved in the Islamabad district courts attack- identified as Usman alias Qari, also belonged to Afghanistan, further highlighting the cross-border nature of recent terror incidents.
