KARACHI: Gold prices registered a notable surge on Monday in both domestic and international markets with bullion value soaring over USD4050 per ounce, traders said.
According to the All Pakistan Sarafa Gems and Jewellers Association, the price of gold rose by Rs7400 per tola to reach Rs429,862, while the rate for 10 grams climbed by Rs6337 to Rs368,530.
In the international market, gold prices increased by USD74 per ounce, reaching USD4075. Silver also gained momentum, trading at USD49.47 per ounce, up by USD1.15.
On the domestic front, silver prices advanced by Rs115 per tola and Rs98 per 10 grams, making the white metal costlier at Rs5209 per tola and Rs4465 per 10 grams, respectively.
The open market may trade gold and silver at different prices as compared to those fixed by the association officially.
