ISLAMABAD: The government announced on Tuesday that former Senator Mushtaq Ahmed Khan has been released from Israel’s captivity and safely arrived in Amman.

“I’m pleased to confirm that former Senator Mushtaq has been released and is now safely with the Pakistan Embassy in Amman,” Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister, Ishaq Dar, said on his X (formerly Twitter).

Dar said the Senator is in good health and high spirits. “The Pakistani embassy stands ready to facilitate his return to Pakistan, in accordance with his wishes and convenience,” he remarked.

Furthermore, FM Dar also extended gratitude to all friendly countries on behalf of the Government of Pakistan, who actively engaged and assisted in Senator Mushtaq’s safe exit from Israel.

On Monday, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs announced that through its Embassy in Amman, Pakistan’s government is working tirelessly to secure the safe evacuation of former Senator Mushtaq Ahmad Khan in a couple of days.

Pakistan is also deeply grateful to the brotherly government of Jordan for its exemplary cooperation and generous support.
