KARACHI: Oil & Gas Development Company Limited (OGDCL) has reported a significant discovery of gas and condensate at its Bitrism East-1 exploratory well in Khairpur district, Sindh.

According to a company statement, OGDCL is the operator of the Bitrism Exploration License with a 95 percent working interest, while Government Holdings (Private) Limited (GHPL) holds the remaining 5 percent.

The Bitrism East-1 well was spudded on June 30, 2025, and drilled to a depth of 3,800 meters in the Sembar Formation. Wireline log analysis led to two Drill Stem Tests (DSTs) in the Lower Goru Formation, which yielded encouraging results. The tests indicated a production potential of 22.5 million standard cubic feet per day (MMSCFD) of gas and 690 barrels of condensate per day (BCD) at a 32/64-inch choke.

OGDCL announces major hydrocarbon discovery in Sindh

OGDCL stated that this success marks another milestone under the Bitrism Exploration License and is expected to enhance the company’s and the country’s hydrocarbon reserves. The discovery is also projected to contribute toward narrowing Pakistan’s energy supply-demand gap by relying on indigenous resources. The company has submitted details of the discovery to the Pakistan Stock Exchange Limited and the London Stock Exchange Plc in compliance with the Securities Act, 2015, and relevant PSX regulations.

I'm resident of Sindh in Hyderabad. We have a lot of OGDCL plants in Hyderabad, it's doesn't show it's recruitments. I'm a LLB student of final year. What should I do to join the service in OGDCL.
