Social media activist’s 4-day remand allowed

LAHORE: A city magistrate allowed four-day physical remand of a social media activist Dr Umar Adil and directed the police to produce him again on August 26.

Earlier, the FIA officials produced Dr Umar before the court and sought his physical remand to collect further evidence. Dr Umar is facing the charges of passing abusive remarks against members of a community.

Dr Umar had apologized for his comments, however, the FIA cyber crime arrested him on a complaint and got his physical remand.
