KARACHI: Sindh Minister for Energy, Development, and Planning Syed Nasir Hussain Shah stated that Sindh is the only province that has completed 1,450 development schemes. He criticised the federal government for failing to allocate any major development project for Karachi since 2013. In contrast, he noted that Mustafa Kamal himself acknowledged that Asif Ali Zardari contributed the highest amount for Karachi’s development, which is now part of the city’s historical record.

He emphasised that while Karachi makes a major economic contribution to the entire country, instead of addressing the city’s issues, people shed crocodile tears. He noted that a large number of people continue to settle in Karachi every day. Following Chairman Bilawal Bhutto’s vision, the Pakistan Peoples Party (PPP) government is committed to serving people across the province without any discrimination, and this mission will continue.

He further said that due to the support of the Chief Minister Sindh, mega development projects for Karachi have been included in the next fiscal year’s budget. Nasir Shah stated that the PPP’s performance-based governance is consistently raising its vote graph in every election, and based on its performance, the public will once again vote exclusively for the PPP in the 2029 general elections.

The Energy minister also opposed the tax imposed by the federal government on solar systems, calling for the tax to be withdrawn and brought down to zero percent. He added that people are deeply troubled by the excesses of K-Electric, as well as unannounced load-shedding by HESCO and SEPCO.
